Thursday August 23, 2012 - President Mwai Kibaki’s Constitutional Affairs adviser Prof Kivutha Kibwana will resign next week to seek a return to elective politics.

Kibwana who is a brilliant law professor and who served for four years as adviser on Youth Affairs, Parliament and Constitutional Affairs wants to be governor of Makueni County.

At a press conference on Wednesday, Kibwana denied criticism that he had misadvised the president on the appointment of 47 County Commissioners which was nullified by the court.
Kivutha who is former Makueni MP said the President was human and can make mistakes when taking some decisions.

"The president makes many decisions on a given day on the basis of law. He is a human being, and he cannot be 100 percent correct all the time. At the same time the law courts are run by human courts are run by human beings too,” Prof Kibwana said.
