Kibaki to open a Sh920 million PARLIAMENT

Wednesday August 1, 2012 - President Mwai Kibaki will next week preside over the official opening of the Sh 920 million Parliament's new chamber.
The Head of State will open the 350-capacity House following its completion after three years of works.
House Speaker Kenneth Marende said the chamber is ready for occupation and 224MPs would be expected to use it hence forth.
Currently, the MPs have been undergoing training on how to use the new facilities in the refurbished chamber to familiarise themselves with state of art gadgets.
Clerks of the National Assembly Patrick Gichohi said members of staff have undergone training on electronic voting under the stewardship of experts from Germany.
