KEEP OFF Kenyan affairs - Wamalwa tells OBAMA

Monday August 13, 2012 - Justice and Constitutional Affairs Minister Eugene Wamalwa has asked President Obama’s Administration to stop meddling in Kenyan affairs.

Speaking in Kajiado North Constituency during a TNA rally on Sunday,Wamalwa who is also the Saboti MP said it was wrong  for the United States and United Kingdom to tell Kenyans  who should vie for  presidency  and who should not.

He said the Americans should concentrate on their political affairs and leave Kenya alone since it a sovereign country.

The Minister who was accompanied by five other MPs said his office will write to United States President, Barrack Obama, urging him to stop meddling in Kenyan affairs.

The move comes after US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton who visited the country last week, urged President Mwai Kibaki and Prime Minister Raila Odinga to bar Deputy Prime Minister Uhuru Kenyatta and Eldoret North MP William Ruto from vying for presidency due to the International Criminal Court (ICC) cases.

Wamalwa said Mrs Clinton was misguided and she does not know what the Kenyan constitution states when one is vying for presidency.
