Eastleigh explosion was homemade BOMB – police say!

Friday, August 03, 2012 - The Wednesday explosion that claimed three lives and left scores of others seriously wounded was a homemade bomb. This has been determined by bomb experts who have been investigating the incident.

Witnesses claim that the explosion was caused by a gas cylinder which exploded after an accident. According to them a cart pusher was ferrying gas cylinders when a car hit the cart, only for the gas cylinder to fall and explode leading to the grave incident.

Bomb experts who took over the investigation claimed that they collected samples of gadgets which were on ground and on the bodies of the injured and deceased. After a careful ananlysis, there was a clear indication that the explosion was caused by an Improvised Explosive Devise (IED) that may have been planted in one of the houses nearby.

Testing of the collected salvage is being done by the anti-terrorist unit which has confirmed the bomb theory against the gas explosion theory.
