After MIGUNA, now comes GACHOKA. Is Raila headed to ICC?

Monday August 6, 2012-Prime Minister Raila Odinga is yet in trouble, not from Miguna Miguna this time but from his former Chief of Protocol, Tony Gachoka, who has claimed that he has crucial information connecting the Premier with the 2007-08 post election violence.

In a letter to the ICC Chief Prosecutor Fatou Bensouda, Gachoka said while working at the PM’s office, he came across information similar to the evidence adduced before the Court and which has been relied on by the Office of the Prosecutor.

Gachoka who is a brilliant political analyst and an investigative journalist, stated in a paid advert placed elsewhere in the local dailies that he has agonised as to whether he should come forward and reveal what he knows regarding the post-election violence that rocked the country during that period.

“I am afraid for my life and for the lives of my family as the information I hold is extremely prejudicial to some of the most powerful and influential personalities in Kenya today,” Gachoka said.

“With great trepidation but spurred by the desire to deliver justice to the victims and help heal my homeland, I am willing to step forward and disclose all that I know. I have a proven track-record as a whistleblower,” he added.

Gachoka said that he has memos and minutes that were prepared by Prime Minister Raila Odinga before the post election violence erupted.

He said he is waiting anxiously to be called on to testify as a witness at the International Criminal Court (ICC).
