GEM MP Jakoyo Midiwo has claimed that the composition of the commission appointed to vet the police and inspector general was skewed to manipulate forthcoming general elections. He claimed that the name had been sneaked into a sensitive portfolio saying it was a scheme to use the security to manipulate the coming elections in favour of certain camp. “We are in the coalition government with people of ill motives who want to scuttle the due process of the law for selfish interests,” added Midiwo.
Jakoyo was speaking at Bar-Ndege health centre, East Ugenya location, Ugenya constituency during the launch of the mobile registration exercise. The joint Government chief whip accused President Kibaki of failing to consult with Prime Minister Raila Odinga before coming up with names as enshrined in the National accord over the appointments of influential Government positions.
