WE’RE WORKING ON IT. The cry of Kariuki Kiragu whose mother has tried for a long time to get the title deed to her property at Eastleigh, Nairobi, has been noted by the Ministry of Lands. Joe Mulei, an official at the ministry, says Kariuki should get in touch with him so he can look into how lands office personnel can facilitate the issuing of the title deed. Mulei can be reached through ardhi.go.ke or his personal email: muleijoe@gmail.com.

STILL CUT OFF. Since June, Chilna Shah’s landline, No. 4185545, has been out of order, and it is not because no effort has been made to get TelkomKenya to restore service. Chilna has not only called Customer Care, but has also gone to their offices several times, only to be assured that technicians will be sent over, but nothing happens. “I have several times been assured that my line will be working the following day, but I remain cut off. The staff at their Westgate office have not been helpful at all,” says Chilna, whose contact is chilna.shah@googlemail.com.

KQ APOLOGISES. Kenya Airways sincerely apologises to Serah Mutungi for the inconvenience suffered when she sought services at their office at Yaya Centre, Nairobi. CEO Titus Naikuni says the customer service team has been in touch with Serah, amicably resolving the issue. “I can confirm that our Yaya Centre office opens at 9am, and that online bookings are valid for 24 hours. Ms Mutungi’s online booking request had been cancelled due to a technical hitch that has now been resolved.”

CALLOUS DEMAND. Since someone asked Police Commissioner Mathew Iteere to confirm that relatives of suspects shot dead by police are required to pay for the bullets used or they will not be allowed to bury their dead, George Njuguna Kibe has been awaiting his response, but has not heard a word on the matter. George feels the relatives who have been surcharged for bullets on collecting bodies from the City Mortuary deserve an explanation. His contact is 0722866673 020-2483708 or daimacivil@yahoo.com.

LONG OVERDUE. The excitement over the construction of the Thika superhighway is uncalled for, as it was long overdue for a country as old as Kenya, says David Maloba. Rwanda, he adds, is rebuilding its towns and has achieved great strides in the recent past, has a better road network and some order. Public transport works, and uniformed police are disciplined. The next big thing is a convention centre, complete with a modern hotel that will make KICC look like a miniature. Let’s focus on real development and not putting up monuments.

GET TO WORK, NEMA. There is some serious work for the National Environment Management Authority (Nema) to do in Mombasa where some developers of residential buildings have put them up without proper drainage, says Derrick Agesa. Such buildings might look beautiful from the outside, but on approaching them, one is assailed by foul smell from poorly constructed sewer lines, not to mention the health hazard the residents are being exposed to. “Can Nema sort out this mess?” urges Derrick, whose contact is dericklive@yahoo.com.
Have a fragrant day, won’t you!

  1. TOLL STATION AT EMBU DA'S OFFICE
The District Accountant's office has become a toll station where no voucher goes through without paying something and more particularly to the DA himself. He has currently made a list of all departmental heads and instructed his staff that they have to contribute to his Christmas fund for his staff before any payment

  2. very true at the beginning of the year the same DA asked every departmental head to give him two reams of photo copying papers two folders and two note books before processing any voucher and we had to.the office is too corrupt in short despite the fact that all the officers claim to be saved
