An MP from Central Kenya recently hang up his phone on a former MP from the same region who called to criticise him for inviting Prime Minister Raila Odinga to visit the region. The former MP who believes he wields power in the region said any MP inviting the ODM leaders to the area would face political doom.

Speculation doing the rounds is that the reshuffle of officers in charge of forensic and document examinations at the CID Headquarters on Kiambu Road came after they refused to alter documents in cases involving wealthy business personalities in the city. The instructions to make the alterations were reportedly issued by their seniors who retaliated by transferring them.

Another person likely to suffer for defying his bosses is PNU nominated city councillor Alex ole Magelo. He reportedly defied instructions of the leadership of the AFC Leopards club when he failed to support the election of George Aladwa as mayor. The club bosses claim that Magelo went ahead to vote for PNU’s James Gakuya yet Aladwa and Town Clerk Philip Kisia played an important role in supporting Magelo’s election as AFC chairman. It is not known how the club would have figured out who Magelo voted for as the elections were conducted by secret ballot.

 Last Thursday we told you the Okiya Omtata-led sit-in to protest the loss of over Sh4.2 million FPE funds at the Education Ministry ended after a disagreement over cash payments for the participants. We have learnt that the protests were supposed to last for one month and ended on July 19 when the demonstrators were held as they marched to State House to present their petition demanding the sacking of Education minister Sam Ongeri.
