Ndolo not invited as Raila visits Kamukunji

Share/Save/Bookmark Prime Minister Raila Odinga is set to visit Kamukunji tomorrow, even as ODM leaders in Nairobi are fighting over who will lead the campaigns.
Raila will officially open the Grand Royal Hotel along General Waruinge Street and hold a leaders meeting before addressing a series of rallies in the constituency to galvanise support for ODM's Ahmed Johhnie Ibrahim.
Ahmed yesterday held a meeting with hundreds of women at Shauri Moyo Baptist Church. He was joined by Housing assistant minister Margaret Wanjiru.
The premier's visit comes exactly a week after his deputy Uhuru Kenyatta visited the constituency to campaign for the PNU alliance candidate Yusuf Abdi. The seat fell vacant following a successful election petition lodged by Ahmed against immediate former MP Simon Mbugua.
Ahmed's group made it clear that former Makadara MP Reuben Ndolo is not welcome in the campaigns. "Ndolo cannot be trusted, and he is very violent which we do not want to see in our campaigns. So we have only invited Bishop Wanjiru, George Aladwa (mayor) and Elizabeth Ongoro (Metropolitan assistant minister) to accompany the Prime Minister," said an ODM youth leader who sought anonymity.
Makadara voters rejected him, so he should busy himself with making water available to city residents than engage in his petty brand of politics, added` the youth leaders. Ndolo is the chairman of Athi Water Services Board.
Another candidate, Brian Weke remained hopeful that he will win the seat, saying yesterday that he had made inroads in areas he had not previously visited.
