I have no regrets over wikileaks?

By Tusijisunde

Michael Renneberger, with all due respect sir, I feel you own Kenyan and apology. If the article in The Star, Monday edition is a true expression of your honest view of the leaked cables it just goes to show how arrogant you are. It is a big insult to us Kenyans to host you, be so hospitable to you, and see so much contempt coming from you.
Mr Ambassador, we are neither blind nor, have we become tweets that we have forgotten the uneasiness expressed by your superiors to remedy the damage your leaked cables would cause to the relationship between Kenya and your sending state. Whilst you will brag about your top global reporting award two years ago, Jonny Carson, who I believe is your superior was covered by every media house in the land as having called our leaders to offer apologies.
Your Excellency, what do you gain from your continued endeavour to paint such a rotten picture of Kenya? You said that the three disease that ill Kenya are Corruption, Impunity and Ethnicity. Now that you are leaving I strongly think you need someone to take you a closer walk home. Are you saying there is no corruption in America. Just because it is known by a different word facilitation does not give you a clean bill of health.  On the issue of Ethnicity you do not have to go too far, presuming that you have laptop if not an Ipod all you need to do is Google – Department of Justice USA and it will inform you that today in America there are thousands upon thousands of complaints in as far as discrimination in t
he work place is concerned. You have been so vocal in describing Kenya as a place that requires ridding itself of tribalism yet Americans themselves when they speak, let alone hire, refer to each other as Africa American, White American, Black American, Asia American, Spanish and Chinese Americans. Your Excellency just how can one blind sheep lead another.
Just like apartheid in South Africa ended on paper close to 14 years ago, apartheid is still very alive in peoples’ minds. Sorry to spoil your leavers’ bash Sir but, Black Americans have to this day been extremely discriminated upon in your home country. It does not and will not come as a surprise to me if the attitude you are displaying right now is as a result of this. Your lack of regard for our National Leaders, in particular The President and Prime Minister (the highest offices in the land) is extremely unwarranted. Your declaration on National media that you have nothing to apologise about Wilileaks is alter contempt.  You can not be allowed to view Kenya, a sovereign state and a small town in America w
hereyou can so easily get away with such arrogance and impunity. Your kind of actions, are what is causing enmity between America and the rest of the world.
You would very much want Kenyan to be branded a failed state just because we have not fully gotten rid of the likes of Munguki and Sungusungu, but your Excellency, back home, have you conclusively done away with the likes of KKK. Mr. Mzalemndo Kibunja I don’t mean your KKK, I mean the Ku Klax Klan back in America? The bible says ‘remove the log in your eye before you can attempt to remove the spec in your brothers’ eye’ I guess, so you can see more clearly.  In Africa a Shemeji cannot be seen to abuse his in laws. You obviously found yourself a partner while here in Kenya If that is the picture you would want to set as an example for our youth . . . ? Your Excellency, don’t for a minute think Kenyans did not
Michael Renneburger, His daughter and His Local Partner
see and that your behaviour was not under scrutiny by the Kenyan citizenry. Don’t attempt to take us for fools.
It is our sincere hope that Mr Scott Gration, who comes to replace you, will come with his wife so that he does not start looking for local partners. That he will be a man of Respect, Integrity, and with a willing to work with our leaders not at cross purpose but hand in hand. Sadly, if he continues to behave like you Sir, the goodwill that the US enjoys in Kenya will cease to exist, because our hospitable nature was quickly getting to its end with you. We don’t want a colonial master imposing his will on us. We are independent!
Michael, we Kenyans wish you well, leave in peace. Fare thee well!
