Share/Save/Bookmark TEN ODM and Narc-K councillors from Malava, Shinyalu and Lurambi have joined former Ikolomani MP Boni Khalwale's campaign trail. Alex Donsio (Narc-K) and Joseph Kizito (ODM) announced their defection to New Ford-K and said they had decided to support Khalwale because he was a national leader. “We have come here to support Khalwale because our people have asked us to come and campaign for him,” said Donsio.
Speaking during a campaign rally at Lwanaswa, Khalwale told ODM to stop using ministries under its control to campaign for its candidate. Khalwale said reiterated his plea to voters to give him time to complete projects he started in the constituency. He said that he will contest for the senate seat for Kakamega County and leave the seat to a person of their choice in 2012. “I am proud of Nelson Mandela and that is why I want to leave the seat for others come 2012 and go for a bigger one next year,” said Khalwale.
He was accompanied by Saboti MP Eugene Wamalwa, Housing Minister Soita Shitanda and former Budalang’i MP Raphael Wanjala. He faulted Medical Services Minister Anyang’ Nyong’o over his remarks during a campaign trail for ODM candidate Bernard Shinali that the government would equip all hospitals in Ikolomani. “All Kenyans pay taxes and Nyong’o should not try to use the ministry to campaign for ODM but supply medicine and equip all hospitals in the country and not Ikolomani alone,” said Khalwale.
