Trio return from Hague date

Three Kenyan post-election violence suspects at the International Criminal Court (ICC) have returned back to the country, albeit to a subdued reception, after appearing before pre-trial judges at the Hague.

Suspended cabinet minister Henry Kosgey arrived on Friday, head of civil service Francis Muthaura returned on Saturday, while former Police Commissioner Maj-Gen Hussein Ali flew in on Sunday morning.
Mr Kosgey is facing accusations of murder, forcible evictions and persecution, while Mr Muthaura and Maj-Gen Ali are facing charges of rape and other inhumane treatment.
Three other suspects, Deputy Prime Minister Uhuru Kenyatta, suspended minister William Ruto and broadcaster are expected on Monday and a rally has been planned at Uhuru Park to welcome them back.
The ICC court set April 18 as the date when Mr Moreno-Ocampo will brief it on how he would share details of the number of witnesses, how statements will be shared with the defence.
Mr Muthaura was represented by Mr Karimi Khan, Kennedy Ogeto and Muriuki Mugambi.
Maj-Gen Ali’s lawyers are Mr George Kehoe, Evans Monari and Gerishom Otachi Bw’onanwa.
