Raila invited to Tsvangirai's MDC congress

Kenya's Prime Minister Raila Odinga will be the guest of honour at the national congress of Zimbabwe's Movement for Democratic Change (MDC) set for April 30, 2011 in Bulawayo.

MDC'S National Organising Secretary Elias Mudzuri confirmed Mr. Odinga's invitation to the meeting

Addressing journalists at Harvest House, Mudzuri said the party would from this weekend conduct provincial elections in preparation for the Congress whose theme is; “United, Winning – The People’s Covenant to Real Change”.

Other political parties from across Africa, international socialist and labour organisations are also expected to attend.

The MDC Youth and Women’s Assemblies will hold their separate Congresses also in Bulawayo on 29 April.
