The taxman is said to have impounded his new sleek Mercedes Benz in unclear circumstances. Our mole says the Merc has been at the KRA basement parking for over a week now. The car’s duty, which stands at about Sh3 million, may not have been paid.

Confederation of East and Central Africa Football Association (Cecafa) secretary general Nicholas Musonye is eyeing a political seat. Those close to the football manager say he wants to contest the Kakamega County governorship. He is said to have been holding strategy meetings in Nairobi as well as Kakamega town.

Nairobi business mogul Jimnah Mbaru’s decision to feature in a music track with Juliani and Sudanese rapper Emmanuel Jal is being looked at from a political eye. The former NSE chairman is said to be eyeing the governorship of Nairobi. Those close to Mbaru say he already has the backing of the business community and wants to appeal to the youth too.

Pundits are wondering why supporters of Deputy Prime Minister Uhuru Kenyatta and Eldoret North MP William Ruto are accusing PM Raila Odinga of undermining local institutions by calling on foreigners to take up national tasks yet the pair has hired foreign lawyers for their cases at the Hague. Uhuru has three foreign lawyers, Steven Kay, Gillian Higgins and Benjamin Joyes while Ruto’s lead counsel is British lawyer David Cooper.

Still on the ICC, supporters of Uhuru and Ruto have been exchanging short text messages following a stern warning by the court on public rallies that are likely to stir ethnic violence. The Star came across one SMS which reads; “The prayer meetings have achieved unity, peaceful co-existence, reconciliation and a commitment that there will be no violence among communities in the Rift valley! This is something that not even Ocampo can achieve by prosecuting six individuals, even in 100 years. Ocampo should feel a sense of accomplishment his summoning of the six has achieved these outcomes unless of course he has another objective/agenda.”
