Prime Minister Raila Odinga says the Public Service Commission must be reconstituted in accordance with the new constitution if it is to carry out interviews for the posts the budget controller and the Director of Public Prosecution.
Reacting to the president's withdrawal of his list of nominees to three constitutional offices, the Prime Minister said the interviews should be conducted by a competent panel of experts.
Raila commended President Mwai Kibaki for withdrawing the controversial list.
On the post of the Attorney General, the PM in a media briefing said there was time for him and the President to consult since the current AG will vacate office in August 27.
He said he was scheduled to meet with the President in Tuesday evening over the matter.
