Makadara MP Gideon Mbuvi caused trouble on Thursday night while crossing the ferry channel when his bodyguards harassed and beat up Kenya Ferry Services staff.
The incident which occurred after 9pm, when the ferry services were experiencing delays after MV Kwale was withdrawn over a prow fault, caused a clash between Sonko and the staff after he refused to pay for his convoy.
He was crossing over to South Coast in a convoy of 13 vehicles, and trouble started when he refused to pay for the vehicles he was in. The Managing Director at KFS Musa Hassan had to be called in to cool the tension, after Sonko, his bodyguards and hundreds of youths who had been ferried from Nairobi, caused chaos at the crossing channel.
