Prime Minister Raila Odinga is challenging the 10th parliament to rise to the occasion and put in place the necessary legislation to ensure smooth implementation of the new constitution if it is passed during the Wednesday referendum.

Exuding confidence that the YES team will garner 75 per cent of the vote, Raila called on members of parliament to ensure that they do justice to Kenyans by playing their part in implementing the new laws.

Speaking at his Karen home on Monday, when he met radio reporters, Raila called on Kenyans to turn out in large numbers and vote for the proposed constitution.

The Prime minister assured Kenyans that the government has taken adequate measures to ensure that law and order is maintained during and after voting and allayed fears that some people will be victimised for voting in the referendum.

The Prime minister further assured Kenyans that the coalition government will remain united even after the vote adding it is committed to ensuring that the country gets the much needed constitutional and institutional reforms.

"We are coming to the end of along and painful journey where some people died, and others maimed, for those who are alive, let us make sure that we pass this constitution."

The PM told Kenyans that the proposed constitution will usher the country into a new era which will open opportunities for the youth, women and the marginalised, and ensure equitable distribution of resources.
