Kenyans hailed for endorsing new law

Congratulatory messages to the government and Kenyans continued to flow in following Kenya's adoption of the new law.

Muslims leaders have called for unity to ensure the new laws are implemented.

The leaders hailed the Interim Independent Electoral Commission - IIEC for a transparent and credible exercise.

" Never before have both leaders of losers and winners shown such humility in victory and maturity in losing, thereby enabling the whole nation the opportunity to welcome and celebrate the new constitutional dispensation" said National Muslim Leaders Forum chairman Abdullahi Abdi.

He added " a new republic will only be achieved by changing of the mindsets of all leaders, public servants and state organs and embracing the values and goals set out in the new constitution"

The leaders however challenged Parliament to stand up to be counted by enacting the various legislations required to implement the constitution in its entirety.

He at the same time asked religious leaders to accept the verdict of Kenyans and work together in building a better Kenya.

"We all make mistakes in our judgment but we must accept our failures and move forward" said Abdi
