Kalonzo challenges foundation beneficiaries

Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka has challenged those who have benefited from education sponsored by well-wishers to reciprocate the generosity of those who helped them by assisting other needy people in society.

Speaking at the 2nd Youth Mentorship Program in Nairobi on Saturday, the VP said the Kalonzo Musyoka Foundation will continue to assist the less fortunate members of society, irrespective of where they come from.

He said students from poor families who excel in studies will be assisted to develop skills that will help them face the challenges in life.

The Vice President is the founder and patron of the foundation.

Mrs. Pauline Kalonzo, who the CEO of the foundation, revealed that so far they have sponsored over 1,000 students to various educational institutions adding that five of them will be joining the universities this year.

Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Home Affairs, Dr. Ludeki Chweya called on the youth to have ambition and goals that they aspire to achieve in life.

He however cautioned that they must work hard since there is stiff competition in Kenya today, saying that it's only those who are disciplined who will be able to succeed.

The function was also attended by Public works Secretary Dr. Gideon Mulyungi, Dr. Wilson Nyangena, Dr. Paul Wambua, Dr. Elishiba Kimani and parents among other dignitaries.
