Blasts at Kenya rally kill 5, injure 79

Five people were killed when two explosions ripped through a political rally in a Nairobi park against a proposed new constitution for Kenya, Prime Minister Raila Odinga said.

At least 79 other people were injured in the blasts at Uhuru park, in the heart of Nairobi, according to police and hospital sources, more than triple the number initially given by police in the Kenyan capital.

Speaking to reporters after meeting some of the injured at Kenyatta national hospital, Mr Odinga said the dead included two men and a woman.
