Amani coalition leader Musalia Mudavadi has told Budalang’i MP Ababu Namwamba that what he is experiencing in ODM is what the former Deputy Prime Minister went through.
“The writing is on the wall my brother, what you are experiencing is what I went through too, and you should learn this lesson earlier and make a decision,” Mudavadi warned Namwamba.
But Namwamba, who has been accused by some ODM politicians of being a Jubilee mole, said he will remain and fight within ODM despite calls by a section of Luhya leaders telling him to decamp from the party.
“Nobody shall scare me, nobody will shake me and nobody will intimidate me,” Namwamba said in Kitale during the 11th anniversary of the late vice president Michael Kijana Wamalwa  on Saturday.
Namwamba said he will remain in ODM and fight from within saying what is being experienced is an internal democracy.
Sirisia MP John Waluke and ODM director Magerer Langat insisted that Namwamba should be given the party Secretary General post.
Magerer said ODM is not an individual’s party but belongs to members nationwide.
“No one can decide for the party as an individual. What I am saying is that Ababu is the best person to become the secretary general of the party,” said Magerer.
Waluke told party leader Raila Odinga to make Namwamba the secretary general in two weeks failure to which his camp will take another direction.
Former Bumula MP Bifwoli Wakoli asked Luhya leaders,  including co-principal Moses Wetang’ula, to disassociate with Cord leader Raila Odinga following mishandling of Namwamba.
“How can you cooperate with a person who is chasing your brother in the party,” said Wakoli.
Kakamega women’s representative Rachael Ameso said it is high time for the Luhya leaders to come together.
Wetang’ula however warned ODM leaders against destroying their party.
“I am asking my brothers not to destroy ODM because as Ford Kenya, we are mending ours, but if you decamp from ODM then come to Ford Kenya because it is within the Cord coalition,” said Wetang’ula.
