FORMER Kanu executive director Joseph Mathai has been appointed to the same position in President Uhuru’s TNA. Mathai participated in the formation of TNA and was involved in the presidential campaigns ahead of the March 4 general election.
TNA has been involved in leadership wrangles with a group of officials trying to kick out chairman Johnson Sakaja after he was nominated to Parliament.
The group, led by vice chair Lydia Mokaya, said Sakaja could not continue to chair the party as he is a state officer. Mathai replaces former IIEC commissioner Winnie Guchu who left in June.
