We Are Not Part Of Your Strike, KNUT Tells KUPPET

The Kenya National Union of Teachers (KNUT)  has distanced itself from the seven day strike notice issued by the Kenya Union of Post Primary Education Teachers (KUPPET).
Last week, KUPPET issued a seven day notice to the government to look into their demands failure to which they will paralyses learning in all public institutions.
Vihiga County KNUT Secretary General Nathaniel Shibira says that KNUT is not in support of the strike by the KUPPET members.
KNUT says KUPPET has not given convincing reasons for the strike.
KUPPET wants the government to harmonize the salaries of teachers with those of other civil servants.
KUPPET chairman Omboko Miremba gave the notice last week saying the allowances they are seeking are part of the return to work formula that ended their strike last September.
