Sh560 billion Agri-City to be set up in Homa Bay County

A Sh560 billion Agri-City is set to be established in Homa Bay County.
The Homa Bay County Government is expected to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Good Earth Power Limited (GEP) to establish the Agri-City Thursday.
Homa Bay County chief of staff Isaac Abuya said the signing ceremony will be held at the Serena Hotel, Nairobi at 3 pm.
"The Agri-City will be set up on a 400 acres land in Homa Bay County,” Mr Abuya said.
The Agri-City will comprise 50,000 houses and up to 500 nutri-domes (advanced greenhouses) together with recreation areas.
Mr Abuya said the Agri-City will include: Modern housing using internationally approved housing structures; clean power generation; clean water purification; sewage treatment; waste management; modern communication networks including internet and satellite TV and modern road construction built to international standards.
