Friday March 1, 2013 - Narc-Kenya Presidential candidate Martha Karua has claimed that her opponents in CORD and Jubilee alliances are using state resources to campaign.
Addressing a press conference at Narc Kenya secretariat in Nairobi on Thursday, Karua said the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) has failed to stop such electoral malpractices.
“While some of us have been campaigning on our own and using our money, on our own and using our campaign money, our opponents are using the Provincial Administration. IEBC should be pro-active in stopping this,” Karua said.
Karua also said it was very ironical for leaders in Jubilee and CORD alliances to pretend that they were preaching peace in televisions, whereas they are inciting people when they are in their strongholds.
She said there has been political intolerance among some areas perceived to be strong holds of Jubilee and CORD alliances.
