Wednesday March 27, 2013 - Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka yesterday also maintained that the Grand Coalition Government led by President Mwai Kibaki and the Prime Minister Raila Odinga was still in force.
He noted that the Grand Coalition Government will only cease upon the swearing in of the duly elected 4th President of Kenya.
This comes just few days after CORD Presidential candidate and the Prime Minister Raila Odinga made similar statements following Uhuru Kenyatta acting as President.
Kalonzo was speaking at Kamiti Maximum Prisons during the unveiling of a Girl’s correctional facility which he presided over as the Vice President and the Minister of Home Affairs in whose umbrella the Prisons Department falls.
He moved to demystify the Military farewell function for President Kibaki last week saying, it does not mean that he has ceased to be the Head of State and discouraged Kenyans from reading too much into it.
Kalonzo praised the good work being done by Prison Industries Department for making beautiful and high quality seats for the newly refurbished National Assembly.
He challenged the County Governors to make use of the expertise in the Prisons to refurbish their offices more affordably.
