Amani Coalition presidential candidate Musalia Mudavadi has dismissed claims that he is a project of Mr Daniel Moi’s following his endorsement by the retired Head of State.
Mr Mudavadi maintained that his candidature was a personal decision and he was not coerced to enter the race.
“The issue of projects should not arise. I’m a project of Kenyans with aspirations for a new dawn,” said Mr Mudavadi during a live morning show at Capital FM.
Concede defeat
He was optimistic that the coalition he heads will win the presidency.
However, he stated that he would accept the people’s verdict on March 4.
“I have a lot of confidence in the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) and I will accept defeat if I’m beaten in free, fair and credible elections,” said the outgoing Sabatia MP who was cleared early this week to vie for the presidency by the electoral agency.
He hit out at his opponents in the Cord and Jubilee alliances for “having nothing new” to offer Kenyans.
“Some of them have been in government for more than 30 years but have nothing to show for it,” said the Deputy Prime Minister.
Mr Mudavadi criticised the 8-4-4 system noting that 60 per cent of candidates who sat for KCPE examination last year would miss Form One places.
“We will ensure those who do not make it to secondary school will join technical institutes,” he pledged.
