Mudavadi asks Luhya not to split vote

Kitale; Kenya: After the second and final Presidential Debate, Amani flag bearer Musalia Mudavadi intensified his vote hunt in Trans-Nzoia County.

The DPM persistently urged the  Luhyas to vote as a bloc for his team. He argued the Luhya vote was crucial for his victory and asked residents to back the Amani Coalition.

The UDF leader, accompanied by Justice Minister Eugene Wamalwa, warned the Luhya community against ‘wasting’ theirvotes and rally behind Amani.

He said to strength the voting power of the Luhya community, the residents should put their vote in one basket.

“We must strengthen our political base by putting our vote in one basket and ensure you vote for the Amani Coalition on Monday,” Mudavadi appealed.

Addressing rallies in Lukhuna, Maili Saba, Endebbes and Namanjalala, the UDF leader also urged the Luhya community to remain united.

He said he has the backing of other Kenyan communities and asked the Luhya community to come out in large numbers and support his bid.

 “I’m getting impressive support across the country and it will be good if you come out and rally behind me. Your vote is crucial to my quest for the presidency,” he said.

He said the Amani Coalition stands for peace and his government would act as a catalyst for peace.

“I will ensure a united country and I will use my position to promote peace to enable the country prosper economically and liberate Kenyans from poverty and economic hardships,” he pledged.

Mudavadi promised to address land problems amicably without fueling hostilities among communities. He also pledged to revolutionise agriculture to provide economic base

for Kenyans and particularly the farming community in Trans-Nzoia County.

Eugene, while drumming up support for Mudavadi, warned the Luhyas against a ‘divided vote’.

“Let us come out in large numbers and vote for Mudavadi. The Luhya vote is crucial in the State House race,” he said.
