Ignore Johnnie Carson’s utterances – UHURU/RUTO’s Jubilee urges Kenyans

Sunday February 10, 2013 - Jubilee alliance leaders have urged Kenyans to ignore utterances made by US Assistant Secretary of State for African Affairs Johnnie Carson, saying he was influenced by their political rivals.

In a statement released to pressrooms on Saturday evening, The National Alliance (TNA) Secretary General Onyango Oloo claimed Mr Carson’s remarks that Kenyans will face consequences if they elect Deputy Prime Minister Uhuru Kenyatta and Eldoret North MP William Ruto to the Presidency, was influenced by some politicians in Kenya.

“Kenyans should ignore utterances from junior officers who chose to go against their seniors. His insinuations that Kenya will have to live with consequences if they vote for a Jubilee government are disturbing,” Oloo said.

Oloo said people like Carson, who was former US ambassador to Kenya, are “political brokers” who want to force Kenyans on whom they should elect on March 4th.

In his Thursday message to Kenyans, Carson issued a direct warning, saying the choice of person elected President at the March 4th general election would come with consequences.
