A political Alliance bringing together Deputy Prime Minister and TNA’s party leader Uhuru Kenyatta with other political leaders to form a pre poll pact may not be signed soon following what has been termed as unresolved issues that now threatens the Gatundu south legislator’s presidential bid, the Truth Weekly Newspaper has established.
This comes barely a few days after G-7renewed efforts to bring back on board Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka and Deputy Prime Minister Musalia Mudavadi hit a dead end.
Sources close to the duo revealed to us that the United Republican Party (URP) leader William Ruto held close discussions with Wiper Party leader and Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka for four hours at his Karen home to intensify discussions which could lead into a major coalition aimed at forming the next government.
He stated that the decision to approach Hon. Musyoka and Deputy Prime Minister Musalia Mudavadi was crucial after it was realized that a coalition agreement between Uhuru and Ruto would not work without the two leaders in the yet to be formed government.
“We are made to believe that the hard stand by TNA’s party leader Uhuru Kenyatta ,and his URP’s party leader William Ruto would not work following perceived disagreements between the two on how to share  cabinet portfolios in their yet to be formed government comes March 2013,”  alleged the source.
The source indicated that potential leaders like Deputy Prime Minister Musalia Mudavadi, URP’s party leader William Ruto, Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka and, New Ford-Kenya leader Eugene Wamalwa, Narc leader Charity Ngilu, Najib Balala of the Republican Party Congress and the ‘Bus’ Party leader Kiraitu Murungi together with other small parties within central province have decided to ditch Uhuru Kenyatta in a bid to blackmail him into dishing out more cash to them as election date approaches.
The source further claimed that an unconfirmed amount of money had been dished out to URP’s party leader William Ruto by Hon. Kenyatta as partial payment towards a coalescing agreement and probably this could have been one of the major drawbacks leading to the go slow in signing of a pact between Uhuru and Ruto.
In confirmation of the same, URP’s spokesman Adan Duale is reported to have said that URP is not in a hurry to sign a coalition pact with Uhuru Kenyatta’s TNA party and other political parties within G-7, adding that the party is focusing on a broad national coalition aimed at winning the forthcoming general elections in the first round.
“URP is not going to be rushed to form a coalition; we are not in a hurry at all. We want to build a coalition which will unite Kenyans despite their political differences and that’s why Hon. Ruto met Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka to discuss possibilities of forming a coalition,” said Duale.
New Ford-Kenya Secretary General Col. Benjamin Muema has also insisted that the party is not in a rush to sign a pact with Uhuru until all pending issues within were resolved.
“The law states that we have up to December to form coalitions or merge if we so wish and as party, all unresolved issues within the G-7 has to be addressed before that time elapses failure to which we may consider going it alone,” said Muema via phone from the party headquarters in Nairobi.
Interestingly, Alliance Party of Kenya (APK) leader and Energy Minister Kiraitu Murungi has also said that he will not join Uhuru Kenyatta’s camp as Uhuru is not ready to negotiate in good faith.
“As a party we want to state it clearly that we are not going to work with TNA’s party leader Uhuru Kenyatta .He is prone to making careless statements which may pull the nation apart referring to Uhuru’s recent demanding sentiments that he made in the recent past during his campaign tours in central province in demand that all ‘small’ political parties within the region join TNA or risk perishing.
However, his remarks were greeted with tough opposition from Gichugu Mp Martha Karua, one of the trailing presidential aspirants hailing from the larger Mount Kenya region.
Karua cautioned Kenyans against voting leaders like Deputy Prime Minister Uhuru Kenyatta and his URP counterpart William Ruto whom she viewed to have failed the integrity test.

Consequences
Close associates to the leaders who spoke to us on condition that their names be withheld, alleged that the decision by Ruto to go slow or quit TNA in the event that an amicable solution is not reached within the party were agitated by strong stand by the Kalenjin community leaders who stated that Uhuru Kenyatta ditch his TNA party for URP for the position of a running mate.
It has also been revealed that supporters of Uhuru Kenyatta are not comfortable with the United Republican Party leader’s political think tank’s decision that he joins their camp as a running mate.
Political pundits now say that in the event that Uhuru fails to sign a deal with the United Republican Party leader William Ruto or the other bigger forces in the yet to be formed coalition with TNA being the main party then he might not fulfill his dreams of becoming the fourth president of the Republic of Kenya.
“ The decision by ‘Bus’ Party leader to ditch Uhuru Kenyatta’s TNA party implies that Kenyatta will miss out on the support of Meru votes hailing from the larger Mount Kenya region and part of Eastern province who have been supporting leaders hailing from the region vehemently since the reign of the first President Jomo Kenyatta,” alleged a political analyst.
Uhuru Kenyatta has also been hit by Senior Counsel Gitobu Imanyara, an ally to Energy Minister Kiraitu Murungi who has severally declared that he controls the larger chunk of Meru votes and that he will not support Uhuru for the top job.
The outspoken lawmaker has always insisted that Hon. Kenyatta will not garner the votes required from the region which would have propelled him easily to the presidency as he has branded himself as a tribal leader.
Sources intimate to The Truth news paper have revealed that ODM’s supposed planned propaganda machines staged against Hon. William Ruto in the Rift Valley may work against the duo’s planned pact.
“Mathematically, the same would also imply that Kenyatta will have no support from western Kenya voters as New Ford-Kenya leader Eugene Wamalwa has rejected Uhuru’s offer that would allegedly see him incorporated in the next government in a less senior position.
The political quagmires between Mvita M.P Najib Balala and his fierce rivals, leaders hailing from the Coast region who have demanded for his exclusion would imply that the party will not have a strong point man in the region.
These are teething problems that Uhuru Kenyatta’s party TNA will need to rectify or perish in a strange twist of events after the TNA party leader had prophesied doom for other parties.
