Ruto tells opponents not to seek favours from foreigners

By Edwin Cheserek
KENYA: Eldoret North MP William Ruto has criticised politicians seeking to use the international community to win support from voters ahead of polls.
Ruto also accused the politicians, some of whom he said were his competitors, of seeking favours from other countries. He said Kenyans should be wary of such people whose leadership was out to please foreign nations at the expense of the country’s interests.
The URP Presidential aspirant termed the mission an ‘exercise in futility’.
“Kenyans can and must handle their own affairs without the interference of the international community or any other persons with ill motive,” he said.
The Eldoret North MP asked Kenyans to shun such leaders,
saying they have no proven record for the many years they have held plum Government positions.
“Let them tell us what they have done when the country was going through challenging times. We must shun those who are engaging us in mere political proverbs,” Ruto said.
