In what seemed to be an affirmation that the next presidential elections will be a two horse race between ODM and PNU, Energy Assistant Minister, Magerer Langat said that he is aware that the presidential hopefuls William Ruto and Musalia Mudavadi were hired to frustrate Raila's ambitions. He further reiterated that TNA is PNU Reloaded and all the defections to TNA should not come us a surprise.
Speaking at his Kipkelion Constituency during a tour of CDF projects in the area, Langat said Raila would weather the storm and emerge victorious.
“TNA is PNU reloaded so there’s nothing they gained. They just retained their seats and people clapped but the truth of the matter is that ODM gained new seats in Bukura and Kaloleni,” Langat said.
The fiery ODM stalwart said even if the whole Kalenjin Community defects to Ruto‘s party United Republican Party he will remain in ODM, saying his future is ODM.
“I am not moving out of ODM. Am there to stay and I am not going to lose my seat…… I have a future,” Magerer said.
The Minister also extended an olive to URP party leader William Ruto, saying the door is was still open for him to strike a deal with the PM.
“They should look back and swallow their pride and strike a deal because they are ultimate losers in the second round.They will be out of politics,” he said.
In his statement, he made it clear that William Ruto and Musalia Mudavadi have nothing to gain in their new found parties and if they want to be politically relevant beyond 2013 elections then they should all come back to ODM.
