SweetKenya.COM can now authoritatively reveal that Prime Minister Raila Odinga is desperately trying to woo Eldoret North Member of Parliament William Ruto to come back to the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) fold.
Our researchers have revealed that Raila Odinga, through his wife Ida has been holding secret meetings full of promises and proposed deals to reverse the waning popularity of the Premier.
In an email leaked by one confidant, Ida Odinga sought the intervention of Ruto's wife to at least get the commitment of the Eldoret MP to secure a meeting before the end of October.
It all began as rumors and were explicitly denied by both Raila and Ruto.
Raila Odinga has proposed that Ruto should accept to run as his deputy in the forthcoming elections and support the Premier for his five years in office after which Raila will support him.
Our sources said that Ruto is aware that he has limited chances in the coming elections whether he goes it alone or supports Uhuru Kenyatta for that matter, but his biggest worry is whether Raila Odinga will conform to his end of the bargain.
What has pushed Raila to aggressively seek partnerships is the growing popularity of his main rival Uhuru Kenyatta and the growing rebellion within the party.
So far Ruto has not given any indications on whether he will agree to meet the Premier on the issue and whether he will accept the running mate slot.
