ODM warns UHURU Kenyatta and William RUTO

Monday October 29, 2012 - The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) has launched verbal attacks to Deputy Prime Minister Uhuru Kenyatta and Eldoret North MP William Ruto over politicising the International Criminal Court (ICC) during their ongoing Presidential campaigns.

In a tough statement read by Sports Minister Ababu Namwamba, the ODM party urged the two presidential hopefuls to stop politicising the process or face dire consequences.

Nabwamba said politics would not help the two to escape the criminal charges facing the two at the ICC.

“I would like to remind Ruto and Uhuru that using the ICC issue to play politics will not serve them any good. The solution to the problems is following the proper judicial processes,” Namwamba said.

The Sports Minister defended the PM against allegations by some Kalenjin leaders that he was behind the push to have suspected masterminds of the post election violence undergo trial at The Hague based court.

Namwamba, who is also the Budalangi MP, narrated how the PM shed tears in parliament as he pleaded with MPs to support a motion to create a local tribunal to try post election violence suspects instead of them facing trial at The Hague based court.
