Wako's Book on the way

By Standard Digital Reporter
Former Attorney General Amos Wako says he has been spending his retirement time writing his memoirs of 20 years in office as he rolls up his sleeves for Busia senatorial seat.
Wako who was addressing a stakeholders meeting at a Nairobi Hotel taking stock on the implementation of the constitution two years later, said he expects his memoirs to give him peace and not a nightmare as some authors have faced recently.
He was making reference to the veiled violence which has targeted former advisor of prime Minister Raila Odinga, Mr Miguna Miguna as he markets his controversial book Peeling Back the Mask; A Quest for Justice in Kenya.
It is not clear as to what would form the core subject of Mr Wako's book but many Kenyans must be looking forward to reading it.
Wako challenged Kenyans to elect good leaders arguing it is the primary duty of the voters to ensure only the best and committed individuals ascend to court.
Wako warned that courts risks being inundated with many cases to dispense justice while parliament will be enacting unconstitutional laws and will end up being challenged in the judiciary.
"Let us elect good and committed leaders to constitutional implementation or risk facing so many legal hurdles,"
Wako who was AG for two decades, said Kenyans should emulate the late Martin Shikuku who exemplified selfless leadership and fought laws protecting the poor and voiceless."
