VOTER registration to begin in SEPTEMBER

Friday August 17, 2012-Electronic voter registration will begin on September, immediately after the three by-elections slated for September 17, the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) has said.

Making the announcement on Thursday IEBC Chairman Issack Hassan said the delivery of the biometric voter registration kits is under way and his commission is well prepared to register a record of 18 million voters.

“The process will start after the by-elections in Kangema, Kajiado North and Ndhiwa set for September,” Hassan said.

The first batch of 15,000 BVR kits will arrive in the next two weeks.
