UHURU and RUTO want MUTUNGA OUT

UHURU and RUTO want MUTUNGA OUT

Sunday August 12,2012 - Deputy Prime Minister Uhuru Kenyatta and Eldoret North MP William Ruto want Chief  Justice Willy Mutunga removed from office over what they termed as “Judicial Activism”.

According to multiple sources, the  two have created a forum which  is composed of professionals, some of whom were in the'NO' side during the 2010 referendum on the constitution and they have directed scathing attacks to the Chief Justice for advancing a foreign agenda in the judiciary.

The theme of the forum was 'Has judicial activism and civil society replaced the sovereign will of the people and become the alternative government?' and they want to test the credibility of Mutunga.

Uhuru and Ruto have also set to a nationwide political campaign to intimidate the judiciary and they have asked the Chief Justice Willy Mutunga to resign and urged President Mwai Kibaki to form a special tribunal to investigate him.

The move comes after the CJ met US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton who urged the CJ to interprete the Constitution keenly and prevent the two from vying for Presidency in the upcoming polls.

During her recent visit to Kenya, Clinton said the two should not vie for presidency since it is against Chapter Six of our constitution.

She also urged President Mwai Kibaki and Prime Minister Raila Odinga to uphold the law and bar the two from contesting in the upcoming poll since it is encouraging impunity if they vie.
