The divine inspiration a woman brings TO HER MAN

The divine inspiration a woman brings TO HER MAN

Competition between men and women has bred many unfulfilled relationships. The clamor for equality by women and fight for their space has often led to broken marriages.

Statements like “what a man can do a woman can do better,” and “Behind every successful man there is always a woman” have often made this situation worse.

Men on the other hand have often fought to prove that they are better than women. The divine role of the leader of the family has often clouded many to think they are to be the masters while their wives their servants.

I have always believed that men and women are unique and different, and God has specific assignments for them in marriage, family unit and society.

Looking keenly at the bible, God never intended for men and women to fight for equality. Listening to a preacher last Sunday brought more light to this.

Genesis 1:

27 So God created mankind in his own image,
in the image of God he created them;
male and female he created them.

28God blessed them and said to them, “Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky and over every living creature that moves on the ground.

It is clear that God created both men and women and gave them an assignment to conquer the world. None was given a lesser assignment. Their way of accomplishing this purpose may be different but it remains one. God could have created two males or two females but I believe he created them differently so that they can complement each other.

Like the preacher put it last Sunday, “what a woman can do men can’t do.” Imagine being pregnant for nine months, unpleasant pains and moods every month, the caring instincts and the excellence of keeping a home.

Imagine the way God has given men the intrinsic desire to provide for their families, the inside call to protect, capability to ably show leadership in the family.

The second part of creation even adds more value to this. Genesis 2:

18 The Lord God said, “It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper suitable for him.” 20 ………. But for Adam [f] no suitable helper was found. 21 So the Lord God caused the man to fall into a deep sleep; and while he was sleeping, he took one of the man’s ribs[g] and then closed up the place with flesh22 Then the Lord God made a woman from the rib [h] he had taken out of the man, and he brought her to the man.

The term helper has been misused by many to mean women are to serve men like servants and the men to be the masters. But the preacher last Sunday brought deeper understanding of this term. In the New Testament Jesus promised his disciples that when he ascends to heaven he will send a ‘helper’ in the form of the Holy Spirit.

The Holy Spirit is part of the heavenly trinity. His work is to teach, encourage and comfort. He is a representation of God. He is no lesser God. Imagine as a woman being all these to your husband, and as a man having such a person besides you. When a man understands the divine meaning of a helper he treats her with great care and dignity. When a woman understands her role as a helper to her man she takes her responsibilities with reverence.  A husband is never complete without the divine input of a helper, and a wife is never fulfilled without divinely adding the helper value to the man God brings her way.

A woman is not to be a servant and should never be treated as so. The woman on the other hand should never fight to be equal to her man.

God created a woman to complement her man, not to compete with him!
