Over 700 families lost all their belongings during the raid
A section of Madogo residents in Tana River county have staged a demonstration to press the government to suspend  Livestock Assistant Minister and Galole MP Dhadho Godana  over his alleged involvement  in the recent tribal clashes that led to the killing of over  40 people.
This comes two days after Internal Security Minister Yusuf Haji urged Criminal Investigations Department to investigate Galole MP Dadho Godana over his alleged involvement in the Tana River clashes.
Marching along the streets of Madogo shopping centre chanting anti Godana slogans, the villagers alleged that the MP had been holding night meetings aimed at inciting residents against one tribe.
This came as survivors of the Riketa massacre who are now housed in makeshift tents appealed for humanitarian aid. Over 700 families lost all their belongings during the raid.
Meanwhile, the Kenya Red Cross society in the affected Riketa village have now established two camps at Witu and Didewaride primary schools from where they are assisting survivors and victims' of the clashes.
The organization is however appealing to well wisher to donate foodstuff, blankets and mosquito nets to the survivors of the unfortunate incident.
An information centre has also been set up to assist the residents with useful information on the whereabouts of their missing kinsmen.
The two communities Pokomo and Orma have been fighting over land, pasture and water since last month.
In 2001, at least 130 people were killed in a string of clashes in the same district and between the same communities about access to land and a river.
