SHAME: JKIA security guards soliciting BRIBES

Sunday, August 12, 2012 – Not long ago security guards at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) made headline after they were found guilty of soliciting bribes from motorists either picking or dropping off relatives.

One would think that such a habit would have ceased by now considering the terrorist threats that the country faces but that’s not the case.

The security guards have been seen on several occasions harassing motorists in the name of security checks and even threatening them that their relatives and friends will not travel if they did not oblige to their demands.

The new or rather old trend has become alarming and motorists are now asking the Kenya Airports Authorities Managing Director Stephen Gichuki to intervene and stop this old habit to clear the rotten potatoes before they spread the bad habit to other departments in the Airport.
