Ringtone - the Kawangware MP on Uhuru’s TNA party

Wednesday, 01/08/2012 - After a hard campaign, gospel singer Ringtone suffered a massive blow after garnering 467 votes in Kitutu Masaba by-election.
Alex Apoko aka Ringtone has shifted base to the newly created Kawangware constituency and is vying for an MP's seat in next year's general elections. He claimed that he was approached by a huge population of youth who knew him from when he was a second hand clothes seller.
The youth claimed that they would support him as a compromise candidate since Kawangare has now separated from Dagoretti.
Ringtone is known for hits such as ‘Pamela’ and ‘Kazi ni kazi’. He says that he stands a chance to win because he has a good history with the people of Kawangware.
Rumour has it that he is going to vie with Uhuru’s TNA party after losing on a Vijana Progressive Party ticket.
