RAILA’s message to MICHUKI’s family on the death of Michuki’s wife


Wednesday August 22, 2012 - Barely an hour after news of  the death of the late Michuki’s wife, Prime Minister Raila Odinga has sent condolences to the family saying it is a double blow to the family of the late Environment Minister John Michuki.

In his condolences, the Premier described Josephine Watiri Michuki as an astute woman who made who made the late Michuki what he was when he was serving in the government.

The Premier said for “every successful man behind there must be a woman” and credited Josephine for nurturing late Michuki to be one of the most successful and committed politician of all times.

“She was a strong and courageous woman who had shown she was capable of stepping into her late husband's shoes and provide guidance to our people on development and political issues," the premier mourned.

"I pray for the family and friends at this time of grief.” he added.

Josephine Watiri Michuki died on Wednesday morning at Nairobi hospital after a long battle with cancer.

Josephine’s death came months after Mr Michuki passed on. Michuki died in February, aged 80.
