  • ODM flag bearer says his government will fulfil promises made to Kenyans
  • Mr Odinga was accompanied by 3,000 metres steeplechase champion Ezekiel Kemboi
  • Mr Kosgey said the PM did not have any role in the cases that were facing them at the ICC.
Prime Minister Raila Odinga on Sunday took his presidential campaign to Eldoret North MP William Ruto’s home turf.
During the campaign, he said he had no hand in the charges at the International Criminal Court facing the Ocampo Four.
Addressing a political rally at the 64 Stadium in Eldoret, Mr Odinga noted that Mr Ruto and Industrialisation minister Henry Kosgey were his soldiers and he had no reason for taking them to The Hague.
“I was more shocked when they were named, these people were my soldiers and I had no reason for taking them to The Hague,” said Mr Odinga.
The PM said that “Mr Kosgey had the best lawyers who helped him to overcome the cases that were facing him at The Hague,” unlike those who were moving around chest thumbing and holding prayer rallies.
On his part, Mr Kosgey said the PM did not have any role in the cases that were facing them at the ICC.
“The PM was more shocked than I, he visited me and I could tell from his body language. That was enough to confirm that he did not have any role,” said Mr Kosgey.
Mr Odinga also revisited the controversial 2007 elections saying he was determined that the ODM government would fulfil the promises it had for Kenyans if they win the General Election next year.
The PM noted that the ODM side of coalition had not been in a position to do much for the country because of the differences they have had with their coalition partners.

“You all know the differences that we have had before with our partners, and there are many more that we have not put to the public, but I would like to assure you that once we win this election next year, we will do all that we had promised before,” he said.
Mr Odinga was accompanied by 3,000 metres steeplechase champion Ezekiel Kemboi, Medical Services minister Anyang Nyong’o, East Africa Community minister Musa Sirma and Higher Education minister Margaret Kamar.
