ODM picks its man for SAITOTI SEAT

ODM picks its man for SAITOTI SEAT

Thursday, the 9th of August 2012 -News just in indicates that the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) has picked Eng. Peter Ole Mositet to be its candidate for the Kajiado North seat in the by-election to be held on the 17th of September.

A meeting of ODM officials found that Mositet is the man most likely to bring the party a much needed coup at the ballot box just months before the general election in March of 2013.

The Kajiado North seat fell vacant after the death of long-serving MP George Saitoti in a helicopter crash that also claimed the life of Ndhiwa MP Orwa Ojodeh and four others.

The Issack Hassan-led Independent Elections and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) announced a few weeks ago that the Kajiado North, Ndhiwa and Kangema by-elections will be held on September 17.

While many Kenyans are complaining that the by-elections are a waste of the tax-payers’ money since they come just a few months before the country is scheduled to have a general election, many pundits are of the opinion that the polls will provide aplatform for the different parties to test their popularity.
