The Orange party has launched a new strategy to spearhead its campaigns ahead of the next General Election.
The party’s parliamentary group (PG) meeting chaired by Prime Minister Raila Odinga on Tuesday resolved to reorganise its campaign strategy to penetrate regions it has previously found difficult to woo.
Speaking after the meeting, the party’s PG secretary Ababu Namwamba said Mr Odinga would lead the rebranded “ODM Mashinani” campaign team in popularising the party in Central and Eastern provinces starting Thursday.
“We have endorsed a proposal to constitute ODM Mashinani campaign teams under the reloaded banner in all parts of the country.
Wherever you are in any part of Kenya, rest assured that ODM Mashinani is coming to a place near you,” said the Budalang’i MP.
He went on: “On Thursday, our party leader will lead high powered campaign teams in Laikipia and Nyandarua.”
ODM also announced that it had effected changes in the composition of its National Elections Board. Mr Namwamba, however, declined to give the names of the new board members.
“The reason why we have effected changes is because some of the previous members of the board want to contest during the next General Election,” said party secretary general Anyang’ Nyong’o.
Mr Odinga will lead his troops in a series of rallies in Nyandarua and Laikipia counties Thursday and Friday.
