Miguna stirs in Nakuru book marketing tour

By Beauttah Omanga
The public confronted Prime Minister Raila Odinga’s former aide Miguna Miguna in Nakuru where he had gone to popularise his controversial book Peeling Back the Mask: A Quest for Justice in Kenya.
Miguna had just finished addressing a crowd when a group of people emerged, forcing him to leave immediately. As he walked to his car, his supporters engaged in a shouting match with the other group, causing tension in the town.
Miguna said he has no regrets over the contents of his book and asked those aggrieved to sue him in a court of law.
“While I was away, they were all over claiming I had run away and that they wanted to sue me. I am back but they have gone into hiding,” he said.
Asked why he never exposed ODM’s alleged plot to cause violence after the last general elections or why he never gave the same information to the Waki commission, Miguna said he had communicated to relevant authorities.

“People are asking me why I have not given post-election violence information to the International Criminal Court. How do you know I have not? Do you know who the ICC witnesses are? You better wait and see who those witnesses will be when the ICC hearings start,” he told his audience.
He said the main reason for writing his book was to let the public know the kind of leaders they have and what was happening in the Coalition Government.
After returning from Canada where he had gone to popularise the book, Miguna said he would move to all the counties meeting people.
He said Kenyans must evaluate their leaders before making the final decision in the March 4 elections, saying some “political dinosaurs” have been cheating Kenyans on desired reforms in the country.
