MIGUNA Miguna’s father in DANGER

MIGUNA Miguna’s father in DANGER

Sunday August 26, 2012 - Miguna Miguna father- in -law Benson Omolo Awange has claimed his life is in danger after armed youths stormed his Migori homestead on Friday.

Mr Atange, 74, pleaded with the youths who wanted to lynch him for allegedly hiding his son but villagers rescued him by chasing away the invaders.

The man said he fears for his son-in–law’s life and that of his family over the controversy generated by Miguna’s book Peeling back the Mask: A Quest for Justice in Kenya.

“I now fear for his life and that of my daughter and grandchildren. In fact I advised her (the daughter) not to return to Kenya with him and she obliged and remained behind in Canada with the children,” Awange said who is a retired teacher.

Mr Awange taught many prominent persons including the wife of Prime Minister Raila Odinga, Ida Odinga.

In his controversial book, Miguna has portrayed the PM as gullible and questionable leader who always allows corruption in his office.

Migori County is the PM backyard.
