Nairobi governor aspirant Evans Kidero has reignited his campaign for the Orange Democratic Movement ticket by touring various constituencies in the city. Kidero last week embarked on a meet-the-people tour, outlining his agenda for city residents ahead of the party nominations planned October. In Westlands and Dagoretti constituencies, Kidero promised to place more emphasis on E-policing as a way of dealing with insecurity.
He said crime in Nairobi is the main challenge to development and noted that his administration will invest heavily police by providing them with latest equipment to fight crime. “Crime levels always scare away investors, and without crime you can be assured that the youths across the city will get employment,” Kidero said. He made a stop over in Kawangware, Waithaka and Dagoretti where he urged wananchi to come out and freely express the challenges they face so that those aspiring for leadership can be challenged to tackle them.
He also met with nurses from the Kenyatta National Hospital and promised to champion for their rights by renegotiating with the government about their welfare particularly on salary increment. He spoke about reducing congestion at the main referral hospital by building more dispensaries and clinics in satellite towns.
