G7 Alliance is DEAD: Politics of BETRAYAL as RUTO and KALONZO cry at UHURU’s plan

G7 Alliance is DEAD: Politics of BETRAYAL as RUTO and KALONZO cry at UHURU’s plan

Friday August 10, 2012 - Political conspiracy and intrigues seemed to have shaken the G7 Alliance unity after Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka and Eldoret North MP William Ruto claimed that they have been out-manoeuvred politically by Deputy Prime Minister Uhuru Kenyatta.

The two leaders, through their emissaries said Thursday’s meeting by Uhuru Kenyatta at Norfolk was a plan to endorse himself as the G7 Alliance presidential candidate.

The leaders also think it was partly Uhuru’s way of upstaging Kalonzo and Ruto so that he can be joint presidential candidate.

Other sources close tothe Eldoret North legislator revealed that, Ruto did not like the casual manner the meeting was called and also the fact that “outsiders” were being brought in when G7 alliance had its own serious challenges.

Ainamoi MP Benjamin Langat said the parties that signed the pact with The National Alliance Party (TNA) were members of one family and it was not surprising they did so.

Ruto’s allies were irritated by Thursday’s meeting between Deputy Prime Minister Uhuru Kenyatta, Eugene Wamalwa, Kiraitu Murungi and Raphael Tuju who unanimously agreed to back one candidate.

Langat expressed dissatisfaction that Uhuru is taking them on a ride and he has a wider plan of endorsing himself as the sole G7 alliance leader.

“The timing of the meeting was wrong. How could they think of convening it a day after Uhuru was endorsed by small parties associated with Central Kenya leaders? It is total lack of tact and mischievous,” Langat declared.

“Uhuru and his handlers may need to change tact. The way they are engaging others reeks of malice and arrogance. It may further alienate him,” he added.
