CRAZY WORLD: Is Kenya cursed? Look at this in Mombasa

CRAZY WORLD: Is Kenya cursed? Look at this in Mombasa

Tuesday, July 31, 2012 - We have all seen news of horrible scenes that occur when people rush to get oil and other products from accidents. In the recent past many deaths have been reported mostly in incidents where an oil carrying tanker is involved in an accident and people crowd the scene to collect some of the treasured commodity.

Accidents scenes in Kenya are not a good sight because most of them are usually too bloody, with people missing some of their limbs and others dead. In a recent accident that happened in Mombasa’s Miritini area a new revelation has come out that most people ‘Good Samaritans’ are usually hanging out at the black spots waiting for accidents to occur.

A source who sought anonymity said when an accident in which she was involved in occurred a mob of people came from nowhere and she thought they were rescuers out to save them. They were shocked when the so called Good Samaritans started taking their possessions instead of helping them.

Her phone, cash and even her shoes went with the highway robbers. Other accident victims were also victims of the robbery. Some of them had to be covered with blankets as they were taken to hospital because their clothes had been stolen.

This trend has now moved to other black spots in Mombasa County. The people you see chewing Miraas and smoking alongside the road are actually working as they wait for the next accident to happen.

A concerned Kenyan who has been a victim of the incident wrote and said:

“Are we a cursed nation? No! We cannot live this way. We have gone astray. We should be humans. We should be remorseful…. Please let’s stop this habit. It’s a curse,”
